MANAMA: The United States of America and the Kingdom of Bahrain on Thursday reiterated to bolster the trade, investment and defence ties taking the time tested ties to the new heights of excellence, Bahrain’s Foreign Minister Shaikh Khalid told the Press the Conference.
Shaikh Khalid was speaking as he held talks with Secretary of State John Kerry ahead of US-GCC Foreign Ministers meeting scheduled for afternoon in Manama to discuss the details of the upcoming US-GCC Summit in Riyadh later this month.
Shaikh Khalid emphasised that the relations with the United States were based on the reciprocity and both countries continue to work for seeking the political solution to the Syrian conflict, long lasting peace in Yemen and defeating the terrorist organisations such as Daesh through concerted efforts of the international coalition.
The US Secretary of State, John Kerry applauded the applauded the reforms initiated His Majesty king Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and hoped that reforms would reflect on each and every part of the society including the human rights.
He also praised Bahrain’s help in providing the logistic and operation support to the NAVSENT and the US Fifth Fleet and said such co-operation going to be crucial to face the future challenges face by the region.
