MANAMA: The new guidelines for visit visa for Pakistan has almost halted the processing of the new visit visa applications as the applicants failed to get any solution despite desperate attempts to get certification from the embassy of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in Bahrain.
Hundreds have so far visited the embassy in desperate attempts to get the four names certificate required by the local Immigration authorities but the embassy simply can’t alter the digitised data of the Government of Pakistan with regard to names appearing on the Passports and ID cards at the time of the issuance.
It may be noted that the new rule of four names for visa applications is only for Pakistani nationals which has irked the 100,000 residents whose families consider the Kingdom of Bahrain as a second home. As part of a great tradition, many families reunite during the festive month of Ramdhan Al Mubarak and with the new rules it seems many families may not able to celebrate Ramadhan and Eid ul Fire together.
Pakistan-Bahrain enjoys fraternal ties and the top leadership contact including His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s visit to Islamabad and the visit by the Prime Minister of Pakistan Mian Mohammed Nawaz Sharif to Manama has further strengthened the ties between the two brotherly states.
The embassy is apparently in contact with the local authorities to sort out the issue but it seems it may take some time.
