MANAMA: Despite the lower trend in aluminium prices, Aluminium Bahrain B.S.C. (Alba) managed to increase its metal sales in the second quarter of 2016 by 3.2% Year-on-Year (YoY) to stand at 239,739 metric tonnes (mt) versus 232,193 mt in Q2 2015.Production figures for the same period touched 239,126 mt versus 238,904 mt in Q2 2015.
In addition, Alba Value-Added Sales averaged 55% of total shipments in Q2 2016 versus 66% for the same period in 2015. The Value Added Sales average of 55% for the second quarter was up from 52% in the first quarter of 2016 and exceeded 60% for the month of June.
