The blast caused the death of a Bahraini female who was driving on the opposite side of the road towards Sitra. Shrapnel from the bomb penetrated her head causing her to crash her car into an iron barrier in the middle of the road. Three of her children who were with her in the car were injured. A second civilian car, nearby shops and both public and private property were also damaged in the blast.
