MANAMA: One of the leading names in the professional photography in the Kingdom of Bahrain Mr Altaf Ahmed Rana is seeking help from His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa.
Mr Rana who had worked 12 years in the Ministry of Interior as a senior photographer in 1980’s has been suffering from a protracted illness since 2013. Mr Rana, who is a retiree from the Ministry has not been receiving pension or can avail social housing benefit as at the time of retirement he was not a Bahraini.
Altaf Ahmed Rana was the first photographer of Akhbar Al Khaleej and GDN. After sometime the interior ministry offered me to join the ministry in PR department. I established the photo section in PRO in 1980 and I had the privilege for training half a dozen Bahraini photographers. After 12 years, the Ministry I got retired from the Ministry and at that time I was not having the nationality, that’s why i am not getting pension. Since 2013 I am ill and has been receiving medical treatment since then on regular basis,” Mr Rana told The24X7News Bahrain (www.twentyfoursevennews.com)
“As of now somehow I survived but with each passing day things are getting difficult for me as I don’t have any regular source of income and I am living in a rented house. I have two children, aged 16 and 13 years and they are studying in a private school. I request the His Royal Highness the Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa for help.”
