Sanabis: The Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI), the largest platform representing the private sector, on Wednesday has denounced the decision to increase the commercial registration (CR) fee.
The BCCI in a statement appealed to His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa to halt the implementation of the edict of the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism with regard to increase in the CR fee from September 22nd, 2017.
The BCCI has appealed to His Royal Highness the Prime Minister to issue directives to stop the implementation revised fee structure for the CR by the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, and Tourism.
“The chamber denounced the hike in the Commercial Registration fees following the edict, stressing its negative impact on the vitality of businesses and the vigor of the market. In an official correspondence to the premier, the chamber expressed deep concern over Small and Medium Enterprises and all businesses in general, which might go bankrupt or exist the market as a result. It also reinstated the importance of consulting the chamber, as the representative of the private sector, prior to having any laws and regulations relevant to the private sector implemented,” the BCCI statement added.
