MANAMA: The revised fee for the commercial registrations (CRs) will be implemented from September 22nd, 2017 as announced by the Ministry of MOICT earlier.
This was announced by Zayed Al Zayani, the Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, during a Press conference on Monday and explained that the decision was not in violation of laws, as some people claims on social media.
The Minister has led the Government side during the meeting with the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry on the directives of His Royal Highness Prime Minister.
The Minister, who joined by Nader Almoayyed, Undersecretary and Ali Makki, Assistant Undersecretary for CR, added that MOICT for the first time in history had applied for the permission of CR fee hike following the approval of the Cabinet. The similar decision was published in the official gazette on September 22nd 2016.
“The revised fee structure for CR is being implemented accordingly after one year of the publication in the official gazette,” the Minister said, adding that the scathing attack on the Ministry following the routine announcement on the subject.
The Minister also highlighted the quarterly economic indicators according to which the Kingdom had recorded 4.2% GDP growth in the first quarter.
“The economic development is impressive when we see in the regional and international economic realities. There is a war in Yemen, development like Qatar and so many other developments surrounding this region and a sustained pattern of growth of Bahrain’s economy are good.”
The social media claims and some misleading reports were uncalled for and misleading, the Minister added.
“There is no need for creating a panic as someone may take a note of the wrong picture being painted by people who perhaps either are ignorant about the economic indicators of Bahrain or are playing a mischief,” the Minister said.
The MOICT, he said, will continue to work closely with all stake holders including the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry for the development of the national economy.
The Minister while referring to the Vision of the Leadership said MOICT would remain committed to the guidelines given by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the 1st Deputy Prime Minister for continuing work on the economic development and creation of more jobs.
Earlier, the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism informed all owners of commercial establishments, individuals, companies and institutions to check the fees of their activities by visiting the website of the Commercial Registration Portal www.sijilat.com, to implement special fee decision to conduct commercial activities No. (130) of 2016 issued on the approval of the Council of Ministers, which takes into effect from 22 September 2017.
The revised fee is: Industrial activities BD1000; Construction / Real Estate ActivitiesBD1000; Commercial activities BD300; Activities support industry BD200; Activities support construction and real estate BD100; Services activities BD100; Logistics activities BD100; Agricultural activities, animals, hunting BD50 and Small Business BD25.
The Ministry also invite traders to review their activities in the Commercial Register to determine whether they want to keep them or cancel any inactive activity, as well as take full account of the new fees for business activities.
It should be noted fees for activities will be paid annually with the renewal of CR through “Sijilat.”
The Ministry also noted that the amounts that would appear in the process of calculating fees on “Sijilat” website will not include the fees of other licensed official bodies.
