MANAMA: Bahrain will host the 13th Middle East conference and exhibition of the geological sciences (GEO 2018), which will be held at the Bahrain International Exhibition Center during the period 5-8 March 2018.
Under the patronage of H.R.H. Prince Khalifa Bin Salman Al Khalifa, The Prime Minister, the event is Organised by UBM – AME, American Association for Petroleum Geology and many others related associations, in cooperation with the National Oil and Gas Authority (NOGA).
H.E. Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, the Minister of Oil, expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to H.R.H. Prime Minister on patronising this important event since its inception in 1994, which reflected the keenness of the Government of the Kingdom of Bahrain to provide maximum support for this type of specialized events for the benefit of the cognitive and economic developmental system dedicated to the principle of sharing knowledge , experience, expertise, skills and over all the building capacity of the human capital in the field of oil and gas sector.
The Minister of Oil stressed that this conference is one of the most prominent events in Geological Sciences in the Middle East. Where most of the global oil companies are keen to participate in this event to benefit from scientific papers that are presented and discussed during the conference by international experts, officials and executives in the oil and gas sector from different part of the world. The exhibition also provides an opportunity to display the latest advanced technologies in geological and geophysical sciences, exploration and production technology.
H.E. the Minister of Oil also noted the embrace of the Kingdom of Bahrain, GEO 2018 for the 13th consecutive time, after the successes that had been achieved in previous years, confirming the importance of the exhibitions and conferences “GEO” lies in providing the best of modern technologies in the field of oil exploration and geological sciences, which affected the oil sector in the Middle East and GCC. It would play a vital role in the promotion of the conference tourism in the Kingdom of Bahrain as a hub of regional and international conferences and exhibitions, especially in the sectors of oil, gas and petrochemicals, which enhance the trade market and tourism that contribute the level of the national economy.
On the other hand, the minister of oil, also confirmed that the attraction of regional and international conferences to the kingdom of Bahrain is considered as a top priority for NOGA with unlimited support given to these events by the government of Bahrain, in line with the strategic objectives of the Kingdom of Bahrain Economic Vision 2030 regarding sustainable human capital development in all sectors including the oil and gas sector.
The event is expected to attract huge number of researchers, officials, executives and specialists in the field of geology, from the Kingdom of Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait and Oman as well as Middle East, European Union, Asia and many more from all over the world. It is also expected many number of international oil and gas companies will participated in the exhibition from different parts of world.
