MANAMA: The reports citing a ban on Pakistani nationals for all categories of visas turned out to be baseless as many visas were even issued on Thursday, the documents obtained by The24X7News confirmed.
There have been reports of a ban on social media circulating on Wednesday on the same subject but the Pakistan embassy has vehemently denied the story.
The24X7News Bahrain (www.twentyfoursevennews.com) obtained the copies of the visas processed and issued on Wednesday 11th of July and 12th of July, which itself is a proof that there is no ban on Pakistani nationals as such.
The report appeared on Wednesday claimed that 50 fake passports had been detected by the authorities necessitating the ban on all types of visas.
However, the embassy confirmed, that there were some issues related to the visit visas which are being sorted out but the news overall ban on Pakistani nationals was not based on the facts.
Masood Gul, Director Middle East, at the Pakistan Foreign Ministry Islamabad didn’t comment when contacted by The24X7News Bahrain (www.twentyfoursevennews.com), as Ms Rukhsana Afzaal, the DG Middle East at the Foreign Affairs Ministry is currently abroad and was not available for comments.
Since the passports are processed and issued by Pakistan’s Interior Ministry’s arm National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA), the question of issuing 50 fake passports doesn’t arise. No mission is authorized to issue a passport, however, in a case of emergency or on a humanitarian ground any Pakistani mission can issue travel document or what is called exit pass for a single travel only.
