Islamabad: The general polls 2018 which held in Pakistan on July 25 to elect over 800 members of National and Provincial Assemblies have been termed as a credible, well organised and transparent by the European Union monitors during a Press conference on Friday.
Head of the EU observers was addressing a Press conference on findings in which he stated that there was no rigging in the general elections and there was no role of the military, except maintain the law and order, as the voting process has been conducted by the Presiding Officers at the polling stations.
Following two days of vote counting, the Election Commission of Pakistan formally had declared that Imran Khan’s party was the winner of the country’s parliamentary elections.
The general elections 2018 which are seen as a major up setter for so-called senior politicians who had been reaping the benefits of the status quo system invented by the corrupt political elite to remain in power after every five years and keep on grabbing the national wealth and still get away despite amassing billions by evading the weak accountability system.
The so-called all parties conference (APC) in the federal capital on Friday called by those who failed to win their respective seats from their home constituencies rejected the election results and vowed to boycott the oath-taking ceremony for the national assembly. It is a very surprising statement as those who had not been elected how they could boycott the oath taking of the national and provincial assemblies?
This rejection of these political stalwarts, is a culmination of the massive corruption, bad economy, unemployment and a record debt which had been tripled in the last five years rule of the PML N under the leadership of jailed former Prime Minister, Mian Mohammed Nawaz Sharif.
The APC which was attended by the PML N, ANP, MMA and some individuals is termed by the national media as a Club of losers.
