MANAMA: The Kingdom of Bahrain and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan enjoy deep-rooted historical bilateral relations and growing cooperation between the two brotherly countries, underlining the role of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan as an important and stabilising country in the region.
This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Bahrain, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, as HE Minister made a telephone call to his Pakistani counterpart Shah Mehmood Qureshi, on the occasion of his appointment as Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, wishing him success in his duties.
He stressed keenness of the Kingdom of Bahrain to support these relations and to continue joint cooperation between both countries to achieve common aspirations.
He also said that he looks forward to the second meeting of the Joint Bahraini-Pakistani Ministerial Committee which will be held in the Kingdom of Bahrain next year.
For his part, the Pakistani Minister expressed sincere thanks and appreciation to the Minister of Foreign Affairs for his congratulations. He affirmed the pride of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in its strong and distinguished relations with the Kingdom of Bahrain, praising the stances of the Kingdom of Bahrain that support the security and stability of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and wishing the Kingdom of Bahrain further progress and prosperity.
During the telephone call, both sides exchanged views on the latest regional and international developments and issues of mutual interest.
The cross-section of the Pakistan community living in Bahrain has applauded the efforts of the Foreign Minister of Bahrain in helping to develop the bilateral ties at an excellent level.
Pakistani expatriate community believes that continuous communication between two countries at the leadership and especially at the foreign minister levels would further help to remove any existing irritants including the ban on the visit visa for Pakistani travelers.
It may be recalled that since July 11th, 2018, all visiting visas for Pakistanis are withheld due to some issues which needed some reviews of the process with regard to the issuance of the visit visas to Pakistani nationals.
