With an ingenuity to mark the World’s Breast Cancer awareness month, Al Hilal Hospital & Medical Centers in association with Radio Mirchi, launched a free breast cancer screening campaign at their newly established branch in Adliya. This campaign was launched by her excellency Mrs. Jayamala, Minister for women and child development, Karnataka, India. This offer will be available at all gynecology departments of Al Hilal Hospital & Medical Centers, throughout the month of October 2018.
The breast screening campaign is offering two packages which are designed to assess the overall health of women and detect the early signs of any cancerous growth in the breast. The first package includes an absolutely free checkup by the gynecologist followed by an ultrasound, while the second package includes a gynecology checkup and a mammogram for BD 10 only.
Mrs. Jayamala along with Mr. UT Iftikar, Karnataka youth congress president, Mr. Ramachandra, Bangalore, Dr. Sharath Chandran, CEO of Al Hilal Healthcare Group, Mr. Asif Mohammed, Regional Manager Al Hilal Healthcare Group, media and community leaders, took a detailed tour of the facilities and departments of the hospital. Honorable minister expressed her happiness about the facilities and services of Al Hilal Hospital and congratulated the directors and board of directors and management for their excellent services to the community.
She encouraged all women to take a step towards these preventive screenings which are being promoted to facilitate them. “Breast cancer is one of the leading health crises for women these days and there is currently no known cure for it.
Its early diagnosis is critical to survival. However, with increased healthcare costs and a rapidly increasing percentage of uninsured women, many simply cannot afford the cost of screening tests. These women are at a significantly higher risk of dying from breast cancer if later diagnosed which is why I would strongly suggest all ladies above 35 years of age to avail this offer and be on the safer side” she quoted.
“While we offer distinctive services for women at our gynecology department, we know that most women are still not availing the ongoing, specialized support they need. Despite that progress we have made, there’s much more to be done. Breast cancer is still one of the leading causes of cancer death in women and this what we at Al Hilal Hospital are trying to change.
“We are taking all sorts of initiatives to make the diagnostic services easy and accessible for every single woman in the Kingdom. We invite ladies from all strata of the society to benefit from this valuable opportunity, and enjoy a healthier life,” Dr. Sharath, CEO Al Hilal Healthcare Group, said.
