Manama: Gulf Air, the national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain, is proud to announce that it will add 38 extra flights to Jeddah and Medina to facilitate pilgrims’ movement to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj. Starting from 28 July, the additional flights will operate to provide expanded capacity due to the increasing demand during the Hajj season. The airline’s regular schedule consists of three to four daily flights to Jeddah and seven weekly flights to Medina and annually adds more flights during the Hajj season to facilitate such demand.
“Each year we have increased our flights to and from Jeddah and Medina to cater to the high numbers of pilgrims flying into the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to perform the Hajj pilgrimage,” Gulf Air’s Deputy Chief Executive Officer Captain Waleed Abdulhameed AlAlawi, said.
“This is a journey of a lifetime where our Muslim brothers and sisters travel to Mecca and Medina to complete a core pillar in the Islamic religion. From the entire Gulf Air family, we wish all pilgrims safe journeys and successful Hajj.”
Gulf Air operates a strong network of routes to and from the Saudi cities of Dammam, Riyadh, Gassim, Medina and Jeddah. With multiple daily flights, the airline facilitates travel to and from Saudi and connects travellers to its extended network through Bahrain International Airport.
