MANAMA: Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan, will make first visit to brotherly Kingdom of Bahrain next month as reported by a Pakistan’s local news channel on Tuesday.
If it is confirmed by the both governments, this will be a landmark visit paving the way for exploring the various avenues of co-operation between the two countries at the leadership level as well as forging new ties among like-minded countries in a relatively challenging political and economic climate.
Prime Minister Imran Khan and His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa has been in touch and kept the consultation process alive since Imran Khan had won elections and took over as the Prime Minister over a year ago. Few months back His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the Prime Minister Imran Khan met on the sidelines of the OIC Summit in Mecca, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Pakistan-Bahrain enjoys fraternal ties which go back to early seventies as both countries have very strong ties in defence, trade and business sectors. There has been renewed efforts by the Pakistan Government led by Imran Khan and as part of a proactive strategy at the foreign policy level, Pakistan is reinforcing and revisiting its ties with traditionally strong allies and blocs such as Gulf Co-operation Council (GCC).
