Jeddah: BRAVE 33 took place on Friday at Prince Abdullah Al Faisal GYM in Jeddah under the patronage of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee.
HH Shaikh Khalid was present during the event and watched all the bouts, cheering the 22 fighters, representing 15 countries from across the globe, who featured in the event. The championship also witnessed the attendance of many MMA enthusiasts.
HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa hailed the historic relations tying Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, stating that they have been built by both countries’ rulers on a strong base stemming from the brotherhood links, the geographic depth as well as common destiny.
“Such ties have been further strengthened thanks to the constant support from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and his brother the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud,” HH Shaikh Khalid said.
“Both countries have been keen on cementing those ties across all fields in order to preserve the national gains that positively reflect in making further progress and prosperity,” he added, describing Saudi Arabia as the elder sister and the heartbeat of the Arabian Gulf and the safety valve of the Arab and Islamic nations for its pioneer role in supporting links and defending the issues of the Islamic and Arab nations.
HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa expressed his utmost happiness at having Jeddah playing host to BRAVE 33, stating that this underscores its position as one of the main hubs for important events in the Middle East.
HH Shaikh Khalid witnessed the 11 bouts featuring during the event, including the main fight between Russia’s Ikram Aliskerov and Sweden’s Diego Gonzales.
