MANAMA: Autumn Fair, Bahrain’s largest and most popular consumer products show, has emerged as the largest shopping extravaganza in a yearly calendar of the BIECC. The most popular consumer festival in Bahrain is expected to attract over 160,000 visitors this year.
“The wide variety of consumer products in the Autumn Fair has emerged as the key attraction for the visitors and has been sustaining over the past 31 years,” Nader Almoayyed, Undersecretary at the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism on the sidelines of the opening of the Autumn Fair, said.
“Huge variety of products from across many countries under one roof has made Autumn Fair equally famous among Bahrainis as well as visitors from the neighbouring countries. It has become a must attend family fair every year,” he said.
Zayed R. Al Zayani, the Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, opened the show at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre in presence of the Minister of trade from Egypt, officials, diplomats and businessmen.
The 9-day retail expo features over 650 stalls from 16 countries, offering real bargains on thousands of products and a returning Street Food Market to refresh hungry visitors.
“There has been a growing appetite among the exhibitors from different countries and this year we expect event more visitors than 160,000,” the Undersecretary said.
This year 650 exhibitors are taking part representing Bahrain, China, Egypt, India, Kuwait, Lebanon, Morocco, Oman, Pakistan, Palestine, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Tunisia, Turkey, UAE, Yemen. In addition, there are number of national pavilions including China, Egypt, India, Pakistan, Turkey, Oman, Yemen, Morocco, UAE, Kuwait.
A large variety of goods is on sale at the stalls covering 15,400 square metres extravaganza, including specialty food, fashion, beauty, home décor, technology, toys, textiles and much more.
The products on display are ranging from arts and crafts; beauty products; boutiques; clothing and fashion accessories; electrical goods and appliances; furniture, lighting and soft furnishings; garden and outdoor living; houseware, tabletop, china and glass; interiors – décor and home; jewellery and watches; kitchenware; leather, luggage and handbags; plants and flowers; restaurants; shoes; specialty foods; textiles; toiletries, cosmetics and wellbeing; toys, games and novelties.
Now in its 31st edition, the Autumn Fair regularly attracts shoppers from Bahrain and Saudi Arabia whilst acting as an important sourcing venue for distributors and agents in the Gulf region. A wide range of products are on sale during this 9-day retail extravaganza, ranging from specialty foods to textiles, and furnishings to electrical goods.
