MANAMA: The Court of His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa has issued the calendar of the New Year, 2020.
The calendar carried the slogan “Awakening of Conscience… Promoting Peace and Understanding”, marking the UN’s adoption of HRH the Prime Minister’s initiative to declare April 5th each year as an International Day of Conscience.
The International Day of Conscience, whose first edition will be marked on April 5, 2020, was launched by HRH Premier to motivate the international community to resolve conflicts peacefully.
The calendar included a series of quotes and statements highlighting the Prime Minister’s visions and ideas towards consolidating the sustainability approach to achieve Sustainable Development Goals, as well as to promote the culture of conscience and support global efforts to establish peace and understanding among the peoples of the world.
“The celebration reflects the strong will of the peoples of the world to make the world conscience one of the cornerstones on which to advance the international collective action towards a more secure, peaceful and stable world,” stated the header of the calendar also included HRH Premier’s statement on the adoption of the International Conscience Day.
This statement embodies HRH Premier’s strong belief that conscience is important in mobilising international action aimed at promoting peace and stability.
The calendar’s pages shed light on Bahrain’s rich history of achievements, including the kingdom’s celebrations of the centenary of public education, policing and banking.
It also highlighted the progress achieved by the Kingdom across various fields during His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s prosperous era.
