MANAMA: The Kingdom of Bahrain has announced the 2nd death, a 51 year old Bahraini female, from the Coronavirus COVID-19 on Sunday.
The second death was confirmed by the Minister of Health of Bahrain, who was joined by Minister of MOICT and other top officials during a joint Press conference.
The Ministry of Health has announced the death of a 51-year-old female Bahraini national who was suffering from underlying and chronic health problems, and was registered as an active case of Coronavirus (COVID-19).
The deceased female had returned from Iran via the International COVID-19 Repatriation Programme (ICRP) earlier this month and had not entered the general population. The individual, upon arrival to Bahrain, was placed in isolation and received extensive 24-hour treatment from a specialised medical team.
The Ministry highlighted that, excluding three cases, all other active COVID-19 cases remain stable and that all patients are receiving treatment from a specialised medical team following guidelines provided by the World Health Organization (WHO).
The Ministry of Health expresses its heartfelt condolences to the individual’s family at this difficult time.
The Ministry Health on its website said that the total number of tested cases reached 23206 by March 22nd, 5pm local time. The number of active cases of COVID-19 stood at 183; stable 180; critical 3 and 149 have been discharged.
