Manama: Mahmood Rafique, Editor: Following the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman Bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and the Prime Minister, the Kingdom of Bahrain is set to host ‘safe’ F1 Gulf Air Grand Prix 2020 from November 27th to 29th.
The event slated to be held from November 27th to 29th, at Al Sakhir Circuit, all health and precautionary measures have been put in place for smooth, safe and without any risk for the attendees, says a senior health official.
Dr. Walid Al-Manea, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health, while addressing the Press conference of the National Taskforce for Combating Coronavirus (COVID-19), on Wednesday said that in line with the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister to host first responders and health workers and their families at the Bahrain International Circuit, the Ministry of Health has already put in place strict health protocols to ensure safe event.
Dr. Walid Al-Manea, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health was also joined by Lt. Col. Dr. Manaf Al Qahtani-Member of the National Taskforce for Combating Coronavirus (COVID-19) and Dr. Jameela Al Salman-Consultant of Infectious and Internal Diseases at Salmaniya Medical Complex during the remote media briefing held remotely.
“We are greatly indebted to His Royal Highness Prince Salman for inviting health workers and first responders and their families to enjoy the three-day event at the BIC. The Ministry Health has taken all steps to ensure the health and safety a top priority during this international event,” Dr Waleed said, adding that the successful and safe F1 Grand Prix would showcase Bahrain’s capabilities to organize a global event like F1 safely and securely.
Dr Jameela Al Salman added that there would be strictly implementation of the health protocols during the event to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the participating teams and those who would attend the event in person.
