Manama: The Ministry of Health announced the shipment of vaccines manufactured by Pfizer-BioNTec, scheduled to arrive in the Kingdom in January, will not arrive on the initial agreed upon date with the company, due to production and supply processes on the manufacturers side. However, the Ministry affirmed, shipment delays won’t affect the vaccination schedules.
The Ministry stressed that the rescheduling of the delivery of Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine shipments will not affect citizens and residents receiving the second dose of the vaccine over the upcoming period, according to current scheduled dates and the availability of the needed quantity for them.
The Ministry noted that the company has informed countries who have ordered their vaccine that it has expanded its production and manufacturing of vaccines in order to cover global demands, provided that the delivery of shipments will take place at a later stage.
The Ministry highlighted that the Kingdom of Bahrain was one of the first countries globally to order vaccines from Pfizer-BioNTech, in line with comprehensive national efforts to combat COVID-19.
