Manama: The Sustainable Energy Authority (SEA)’s President Dr. Abdul Hussain bin Ali Mirza held meeting remotely with the National Initiative for Agricultural Development Secretary General Shaikha Maram bint Isa Al Khalifa.
Dr. Mirza praised the efforts of the National Initiative to promote the agriculture sector and enable it to contribute to the national economy, under the leadership of the initiative’s chairman Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa.
SEA president discussed the latest renewable energy solutions and energy efficiency technologies that can be used to develop the agricultural sector, which will save energy costs for agricultural projects and the application of technologies and solutions that improve the efficiency of agricultural operations.
He noted on the major investment potentials to integrate renewable energy solutions and energy efficiency in agricultural projects.
Dr. Mirza highlighted SEA’s ability to contribute to the national goals for renewable energy to increase the utilization of renewable energy resources.
Shaikha Maram praised the efforts of the SEA and its achievements in encouraging the utilization of clean energy in Bahrain, expressing the aspiration of the National Initiative for Agricultural Development to cooperate with the SEA in a way that contributes to enhancing the goals and efforts of the initiative.
She highlighted the critical importance of food security to face economic conditions in order to preserve the citizen’s prosperity
The secretary general affirmed the initiative’s commitment to support national efforts to achieve sustainable energy resources and contribute to achieving national goals for renewable energy and energy efficiency.
The meeting resulted in setting up a joint working group that includes specialists from the SEA and the National Initiative for Agricultural Development, Agriculture and Marine Resources in the Ministry of Works, to develop an action plan between the two parties based on the meeting in addition to other aspects.
