Brussels: Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani, met at the headquarters of the European Parliament, the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the European Parliament, David McAllister, as part his official visit to Brussels.
During the meeting, the Minister of Foreign Affairs commended the distinguished level of cooperation between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the European Union, stressing the importance of strengthening parliamentary relations and exchanging experiences between the two sides in a way that enhances the role of parliamentary diplomacy in increasing mutual understanding, converging views and expanding bilateral cooperation.
He also reviewed means of solidifying these relations, stressing Bahrain’s keenness to benefit from the European parliamentary experience in strengthening its democratic process and building closer relations between the two sides.
European Parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman stressed the keenness of the European Parliament to develop and consolidate relations with Bahrain, as well as exchange visits and enhance coordination to achieve the aspirations of the two sides. He also praised the important and pivotal role that Bahrain plays in establishing peace, security and stability in the region, wishing Bahrain further progress and prosperity.
The meeting was attended by MoFA’s Undersecretary for International Affairs, Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the Kingdom of Belgium, the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and the Kingdom of Denmark, and representative to the European Union and NATO, Dr. Bahia Jawad Al-Jishi, and the Minister’s accompanying delegation.
