Brussels: Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani, Foreign Minister, met at the headquarters of the European Parliament, the Group of Friends of the Kingdom of Bahrain in the European Parliament, as part his official visit to Brussels.
During the meeting, he expressed his great pride in the distinguished level of joint bilateral relations between Bahrain and the European Union.
He stressed Bahrain’s keenness to increase communication and joint coordination with the EU to further enhance friendship and cooperation relations between the two sides. He also highlighted the significant role of the Group, wishing them constant success.
For their part, the Group of Friends of the Kingdom of Bahrain in the European Parliament affirmed their constant aspiration to enhance joint bilateral cooperation between Bahrain and the EU.
They stressed the importance of the role of parliamentary diplomacy in this field. They also noted the efforts of Bahrain in promoting security, peace and stability in the region, wishing Bahrain continued progress and prosperity.
During the meeting, a number of issues related to the parliamentary field and issues of common interest were discussed.
The meeting was attended by MoFA’s Undersecretary for International Affairs, Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the Kingdom of Belgium, the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg and the Kingdom of Denmark, and representative to the European Union and NATO, Dr. Bahia Jawad Al-Jishi and the accompanying delegation.
