MANAMA: Mahmood Rafique, Editor: The Ministry of Health Bahrain has established two medical screening centers at the Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) Al Sakhir for a periodic testing for the participating teams and organisers arriving from abroad ahead of the F1 Grand Prix 2021 takes place this month.
Dr. Waleed Al Manea, the Undersecretary at the Ministry of Health and member of the National Taskforce for Combating the Coronavirus (COVID-19) addressing the Press conference on Sunday said as part of national efforts, a temporary examination center has been launched at the Bahrain International Circuit, to conduct the second laboratory examination (day 5 of arrival to the Kingdom) and the third (day 10 of arrival to the Kingdom) for all arrivals to the Kingdom of Bahrain from all ports starting from March 8 and will continue until March 20.
The Kingdom of Bahrain will host the opening race of the 2021 FIA Formula One World Championship at Al Sakhir Circuit from 26th to 28th March, 2021.
FIA in a statement had confirmed that the 2021 FIA Formula One World Championship will open its season in Bahrain between 26th-28thMarch.
The National Taskforce for Combating the Coronavirus (COVID-19) has put in place stringent precautionary measure for the F1 Grand Prix 2021 and details include and reiterated the importance of continuing adherence to the precautionary health measures.
“I would like to point out the importance of adhering to the deadlines set for the inspection of vehicles at the Bahrain International Exhibition Center, in a way that contributes to strengthening the laboratory examination process, supporting the efforts of the team concerned with the examination and facilitating the performance of its tasks with ease. Our national cadres in the front lines working day and night deserve us to adhere to the precautionary measures, preventive measures and instructions issued to relieve pressure on them, and we confirm that the Ministry of Health continues its efforts to limit the spread of the virus,” Al-Manea, said.
“We wish everyone to support the national efforts by adhering to community awareness, increasing caution and caution, and fully adhering to the precautionary measures, and participating in the national vaccination campaign. It is important for people with chronic diseases to take the initiative to get vaccinated. These diseases include diabetes, heart, hypertension, asthma, rheumatism, immune-compromised patients, chronic kidney disease and cancer,” he said, adding that obese people are included among the chronic diseases, according to studies, the death rate is higher in countries with high levels of obesity, so the higher the body mass index (BMI) 25, the greater the risk of exposure to the virus.
Talking about national vaccine initiative he said that the vaccination is according to the supply processes of each company, with the aim of providing jabs to citizens and residents and thus enhancing their protection and immunity against the virus. “The vaccination process will take place according to the scheduled dates that are set when registering to take the vaccination by sending text messages to the registrants on their phone numbers,” he said.
Opening up of some segments of the national economy, Al-Manea said in light of the decisions that have been taken to reopen some sectors, we hope that everyone continues to adhere to the precautionary measures, preventive measures and decisions issued by the official authorities, in order to preserve the safety of everyone, and to support the success of the national efforts to address the Coronavirus.
“Reopening private indoor gyms and swimming pools according to previously announced procedures and requirements in this regard,” he said, adding that the continuation of the prohibition of holding all social gatherings or private events in the homes and private places of more than 30 people.
“We reaffirm that the Kingdom of continues to intensify its efforts with the aim of preserving the health and safety of everyone and the speed of returning to normal life, and the work paths that have been followed are continuing according to the developments of dealing with the virus locally and globally,” Dr. Walid Al-Manea, added.
