Almaty: BRAVE Combat Federation has announced four huge fights for its return trip to Kazakhstan, set to take place on August 21st, in association with Octagon League. The set of announced bouts includes the main event of the evening which opposes two of the top Featherweights on the BRAVE CF roster. The hometown hero Nurzhan Akishev will take on undefeated Tae Kyun Kim in the night’s biggest attraction.
Tae Kyun Kim earned the biggest victory of his career in his last outing, knocking out previously undefeated Husein Kadimagomaev. Now Kim will have the opportunity to insert himself in the title conversation by beating Akishev in his opponent’s backyard. Nurzhan, on the other hand, is looking to bounce back as he suffered a decision loss against Roman Bogatov in his first BRAVE CF appearance.
Also set for fight night is a Bantamweight bout between Brad Katona and Bair Shtepin. Canadian phenom Katona made a winning debut as he comfortably beat Borislav Nikolic and will now look for his second promotional victory and to get one step closer to a title fight.
Two pivotal Flyweight bouts are also set to take place at BRAVE CF 53. Undefeated Azat Maksum looks for the biggest win of his career at home when he takes on Flavio Queiroz, who’s coming off a spirited effort in the Flyweight tournament.
Another huge Flyweight fight will oppose perhaps the two top names in the division in Eastern Europe. Kazakhstan’s Asu Almabaev will take on Ukraine’s own Aleksander Doskalshuk, with the winner being in pole position for a shot at the title once the biggest tournament in the history of the division concludes.
