Manama: Minister of Foreign Affairs Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Israel Yair Lapid signed a number of memoranda of understanding (MoUs) to enhance joint cooperation between the two countries.
The MoUs covering the fields, of sports, environment and water were signed within the framework of the official visit carried out by the Israeli Minister of Foreign Affairs to the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The two ministers signed a memorandum of understanding between the government of the Kingdom of Bahrain and the government of the State of Israel on cooperation in the field of sports, a memorandum in the field of environmental protection and nature conservation and a memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Electricity and Water Affairs in the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Ministry of Energy in the State of Israel on innovation and development in water resources.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs also presented to his Israeli counterpart the certificate of accreditation of the State of Israel as an approved partner for the International Center for Sea and Air Freight and Services and a letter on granting the State of Israel the sovereign rights over the information of its subscribers in the existing cloud computing centers in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
A memorandum of understanding was also signed between Salmaniya Medical Complex and King Hamad University Hospital with Sheba Health Services and Research Fund in the State of Israel on enhancing cooperation in medical field.
The memorandum was signed by Dr. Ahmed Al-Ansari from Salmaniya Medical Center and Director General of Medical Affairs at King Hamad University Hospital, while it was signed by Dr. Yoel Hareven on behalf of Sheba International Center.
Electricity and Water Authority CEO Shaikh Nawaf bin Ibrahim bin Hamad Al Khalifa and Eli Cohen, CEO of the Israeli Water Company Mekorot, signed a letter of acknowledgment regarding the signing of an agreement between the Electricity and Water Authority of the Kingdom of Bahrain and Mekorot.
The two ministers signed a joint statement on the results of the visit of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Israel to the Kingdom of Bahrain.
It was attended by Undersecretary for Political Affairs, Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Chief Executive of the National Communication Center, Yousif Mohammed Al-binkhalil, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the State of Israel Khalid Yousef Al Jalahma, a number of accredited ambassadors to the Kingdom of Bahrain and senior officials from the two countries’ foreign ministries.
