MANAMA: Tina Mathew Nellicken, will represent Bahrain at The Mrs. Middle East Pageant contest presented by DLK Fashions.
Tina, a dancer, model, TV host, actor and a long Bahrain resident is an Indian encapsulates the best of both cultures that best known for generosity, warmth, and festivities.
The pageant takes place in Dubai in June with contestants vying for the crown from across the Middle East.
Winners of the qualifying round of the Mrs. Middle East will participate in the prestigious Mrs. Universe South Korea contest– an annual international event for ‘the most honorable married woman’ first organized in Sofia, Bulgaria in 2007.
This pageant is unique and special, as the women chosen to participate do not have to meet any physical requirements of height, weight, and body measurements.
Tina has been working in the aviation sector for the past many years and she believes her exposure to the world class aviation industry has taught her patience and resilience. She is also no stranger to the stage, having walked the ramp for several brands and had participated and won pageant titles over the years. Some of the notable ones include Indian Club May Queen Title 2005, Miss India Bahrain Title 2003, Indian Club Bahrain Winter Queen 2002, and July Rose Title 2002
Tina has launched #URBeautiful, a campaign to celebrate beauty in a unique format. Through this campaign she wants to inspire people to find beauty in everything every aspect of life.
Tina hopes this campaign will give a sense of self pride and confidence to all those who are afraid to step out of their comfort zone, are being body shamed, or just being told they cannot ever achieve their dreams.
The team supporting her in her journey includes Stylist Roshini Raveendran, photographer George Mathew, Make Up artist Asma Ali and designer Sumaya Faisal. Karan Raman, a celebrity fashion choreographer, and stylist has flown in from India to groom Tina and as her close friend, be a strength of support and motivation.
Tina is married to Tony Nellicken and the couple have four children. She applauds her partner Tony for being her strength and ever encouraging friend in this precious life.
