Manama: Mahmood Rafique, Editor: His Majesty King Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa’s resolve for promoting peace and co-existence through dialogue took center stage at the 18th IISS Manama Dialogue 2022.
In his opening remarks, His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, told the global audience attending the Security Summit that Bahrain would continue to promote peace and co-existence through dialogue.
“I would like to use this podium to reiterate His Majesty King’s call during the historical visit of His Holiness, Pope Francis to the Kingdom and HM consistently emphasizes the importance of international cooperation based on diplomatic dialogue and peaceful means as the starting point to end wars and conflicts and pursues the path for opportunity, understanding, respect for sovereignty of states. Good neighborliness and noninterference and Internal Affairs,” His Highness said.
He thanked the IISS team for organising this dialogue saying Bahrain’s strong relationship with IISS Manama Dialogue spans over two decades is unbelieve story of success. “Each year the Manama Dialogue puts forward a thought-provoking agenda. And this year is no different. The agenda covers all issues that needs to be addressed and in the backdrop of His Majesty the King’s reiteration for peace and coexistence, I call upon on major world powers to maintain international peace and security and to end the Russian-Ukrainian war and to begin serious negotiations between the two parties. The Kingdom of Bahrain will not hesitate to play any role required in this regard. And today, I bring with me His Majesty’s spirit of this message and would like to echo its sentiment, the Kingdom of Bahrain stands ready to play its part in promoting peace and coexistence. Bahrain is ready to be the meeting ground and a friend to all.”
