Manama: Mahmood Rafique, Editor: Bahrain Network (BNET), the national broadband service provider responsible for the design, construction, and operation of the Kingdom’s Fiber infrastructure, has signed a strategic partnership with Huawei, the leading global provider of information and communications technology.
This came as BNET delegation led by its CEO participated in the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2023 in Shanghai.
“This partnership will aim to utilize Huawei’s technological expertise to elevate BNET’s operations and keep up with the latest innovations and business trends dominating the tech world ,including investing in upgrading the national broadcast network, providing the latest fixed internet speeds, and providing a continuous professional training for BNET employees in Huawei laboratories,” BNET in a statement said.
The signing ceremony of the strategic partnership took place during a visit by BNET’s delegation to Shanghai, People’s Republic of China, to attend the 2023 World Telecommunications Conference. BNET CEO participated in the conference as a keynote speaker, where he also delivered a speech highlighting the Kingdom’s achievements in the telecommunications sector and BNET’s goals for the future.

BNET delegation visited Huawei’s headquarters and both sides discussed their strategic goals, approaches to improve broadband network infrastructure, and the most significant technologies that would increase the network’s connection and reach. Representatives from BNET emphasized Bahrain’s remarkable technological expansion, which has resulted in the activation of education systems, remote work, smart industries, and smart healthcare.
