MANAMA: Mahmood Rafique, Editor: His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, and Prime Minister, will open the debate at the 19th edition of the IISS Manama Dialogue, the Middle East’s premier foreign policy, defence and security summit.
The IISS in a statement said that Bahrain’s Crown Prince and Prime Minister, HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, will deliver the Keynote Address at the IISS Manama Dialogue, which will take place in Bahrain on 17–19 November 2023.
The 19th IISS Manama Dialogue will take place at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Bahrain. The IISS expects to host more than 450 delegates from the foreign policy, defence and security establishments of more than 40 nations from around the world.
The Crown Prince and Prime Minister’s speech will be delivered on Friday 17 November 2023 to mark the opening of the 19th edition of the IISS Manama Dialogue, the Middle East’s premier foreign policy, defence and security summit.
The Dialogue brings together foreign and defence ministers, national security advisers, military leaders and senior defence officials, as well as business leaders and security experts, from across the Middle East, Europe, North America, Africa, Asia and beyond to discuss critical security challenges.
“Conflict, confrontation and geopolitical competition are persistent features of the Middle East’s foreign policy and security landscape,” Sir Thomas Beckett, Executive Director of IISS–Middle East, said.
“As the rules-based order faces challenges from emerging and revisionist powers, Middle Eastern nations are determining their strategic alignment in a multipolar world. The 13 September “Comprehensive Security Integration and Prosperity Agreement” (C-SIPA) between Bahrain and the United States, the first of its kind in the Middle East, offers an example of a reinforced bilateral relationship, one that the US may hope to see adopted more widely. Having navigated regional economic, security and pandemic challenges, HRH The Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Bahrain’s views on ways to ameliorate the Middle East’s security environment, while enhancing trade, investment and development will be welcome and timely.”
