MANAMA: Mahmood Rafique, Editor: Mohsen Mohammedseifi has made history as one of the greatest wushu sanda fighters of all time, with five world championships to his name. And he’s intent on repeating that success in mixed martial arts. If last year is any indication of what the future holds for Mohsen, he’s well on his way to doing just that. With his performances in 2023, Mohammedseifi has captured three Fan-voting awards for BRAVE Combat Federation, showing he’s a hit in and outside the cage.
Mohammedseifi put on exciting performances in both his outings at BRAVE CF in 2023. He first earned a huge KO victory over Noor El Islam and followed that up by showcasing his durability and heart by beating David Forster in his first decision victory in MMA.
His performances and his dedicated fan-base have led Mohsen to make history. After Asu Almabaev earned two awards back in 2021, Mohammed seifi has recorded an even more improbable victory at the 2023 Fan Awards by winning KO of The Year (for his KO over El Islam), Breakout Fighter of The Year, and Fight of The Year (shared with David Forster, the man he beat in his final outing of 2023).
In 2024, with four victories in a row in BRAVE CF’s Lightweight division, Mohsen feels a clash for the title is inevitable. The reigning champion Abdisalam Kubanychbek won the most prestigious award of last year, Fighter of The Year.
The challenge for Mohammedseifi in 2024 is to add a sixth world championship in combat sports, the first in MMA – but also to tear down the legend of Kubanychbek, widely regarded as the most feared man in BRAVE Combat Federation.
