MANAMA: Mahmood Rafique, Editor: A newly formed body seeks practical steps to boost trade, investment and tourism ties between the gateways to the Gulf and the Europe.
Jawad bin Youssef Al-Hawaj, President of the Bahrain Bosnia and Herzegovina Friendship and Business Association (BBHS), stressed the need to work on developing and Strengthening relations in various fields that serve the two brotherly countries, the Kingdom of Bahrain and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The BBHS President, along with members of the Board of Directors, during a Press Conference underlined the importance of exploring the avenues of co-operation and discussed the most important goals, including air transportation link between the two countries.
“The direct flights remain as one of the most important priorities for the association’s objectives and is considered one of the most important factors for greater economic development.
“Direct flights will have a significant role and impact on developing relations, which in turn will contribute to raise the level of the economy in all fields between countries, and we have recently played a major role in helping and mediating in opening the way for there to be direct flights between the Kingdom of Bahrain and Bosnia and Herzegovina by the national carrier Gulf Air, by meeting with officials and management of Gulf Air several times, and our efforts have been crowned with success.
“The first airlink during a peak season between Manama and Sarajevo, through the charter system (GARTER) has been operational for the past four years and we are seeking direct flights. This will help boost tourism, trade, investments and two-way business. It makes the Kingdom of Bahrain a vital destination and a strategic location that brings together travelers from Bahrain and the Gulf countries to travel to Bosnia and Herzegovina and reach Eastern and Western Europe,” Al Hawaj, added.
