Integrating entertainment, leisure, and recreation into Bahrain’s live-ability fabric is about creating a vibrant, enjoyable, and sustainable environment for both residents and visitors. This involves developing infrastructure and spaces that promote social wellbeing, cultural heritage, and economic growth.
This was the crux of a Panel Discussion at Cityscape Bahrain 2024 held at Exhibition World and the participants representing public and private sector stakeholders and leaders of their respective segments.
The participants include Dana Osama Al Saad, Deputy CEO Resources and Projects, Bahrain Tourism and Exhibition Authority; Daij Khalifa Al Rumaihi, Mall Director, City Centre Bahrain, Sherif Al Mahdy, Chief Commercial Officer, Bahrain International Circuit; Marwan Lockman, Director SL Architects, Al Dana Amphitheater Bahrain; Ahmed Khalfan, Chief Marketing and Sales officer Al Areen Holding Bahrain and moderated by Sandra Baer, CEO Personal Cities, USA.
A lively debate with input from all participating major stakeholders of each sector set a tone for a clear road map for creating a sustainable tourism and each player shed a light on the salient initiatives that matters for turning Bahrain into a destination of choice for real estate, entertainment, leisure and shopping.
Bahrain’s Vision 2030 includes initiatives to enhance urban planning, sustainability, and technology, all aimed at improving the quality of life. This includes creating parks, recreational areas, cultural centers, and entertainment venues that are accessible to everyone. The goal is to make Bahrain not just a place to live, but a place to thrive and enjoy life.
