MANAMA: Reaffirming its commitment to the objectives of Combined Maritime Forces (CMF) to ensure regional maritime security, the Pakistan Navy led Combined Task Force 150 conducted its Focused Operation KARAKORAM RESOLVE. The operation was focused on countering illicit activities in the Arabian Sea.
The operation witnessed robust multinational participation, including ships from Pakistan Navy and Pakistan Maritime Security Agency, alongside platforms from United States, France and EUNAVFOR OPS ATALANTA. Aerial surveillance was another key component of the operation, which was predominantly conducted by aircraft from Pakistan Navy. This robust air and sea presence enabled effective monitoring of CTF 150 Area of Operation.
During operation KARAKORAM RESOLVE, participating units proactively patrolled in their assigned areas and conducted six boarding operations on suspicious dhows. These efforts radiated effective deterrence to smugglers and was able to create disruptive effects against narcotics smuggling in the area.
At the culmination of the Focused Operation, joint manoeuvers were also conducted between PNS SAIF and the EUNAVFOR OPS ATALANTA Ship SANTA MARIA. By operating together, the participating units showcased a unified commitment to the objectives of CTF 150, focusing on disrupting illicit activities and enhancing maritime security in one of the world’s most strategically vital waterways.

CTF 150 is one of the five task forces under Combined Maritime Forces, the world’s largest international naval partnership with 46 nations that upholds freedom of navigation and free flow of commerce in international waters. The mission of CTF 150 is to deter and disrupt smuggling of drugs, illicit substances and weapons through its Area of Operation.
