MANAMA: Mahmood Rafique, Editor: The Kingdom of Bahrain has launched the Global Entrepreneurs Alliance (GEA) aims at fostering cooperation and coordination among entrepreneurs, innovators, investors, and professionals dedicated to supporting entrepreneurial and innovative endeavors.
The initiative is in line with the comprehensive reform programme initiated by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and on the occasion of the Silver Jubilee of HM King Hamad’s 25th anniversary, the United Nations Industrial Development Organization, the Investment and Technology Promotion Office in Bahrain (UNIDO-ITPO Bahrain), in cooperation with the International Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (ICEI), launched the Global Entrepreneurs Alliance (GEA) on Tuesday, at the Sheraton Hotel.
The initiative aspires to be a global platform fostering cooperation and coordination among entrepreneurs, innovators, investors, and professionals dedicated to supporting entrepreneurial and innovative endeavors. By bringing together counterparts from around the world, the alliance aims to help individuals achieve their full potential and make positive contributions to their national economies and societies. This initiative also comes as a culmination of the successes achieved by the International Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation in more than 56 countries around the world.
Concurrently with the Global Entrepreneurs Alliance, the Global Call 2025 was launched to celebrate and promote innovation, creativity, and sustainability within the creative industries. The call is open to participants worldwide, encouraging diverse and inclusive participation across three main categories: Eco-friendly Production, Digital Innovation, and Cultural Heritage.
The Eco- Production theme aims to support efforts to make creative industries more sustainable. By highlighting effective and innovative green production practices, this category encourages participants to think critically about their environmental impact and develop solutions that contribute to a more sustainable future. It includes green materials, green production processes, and eco-friendly design.
The Digital Innovation theme aims to promote the innovative use of technology in the creative industries, encouraging participants to explore new possibilities and create pioneering digital experiences. By highlighting the intersection of creativity and technology, this category seeks to inspire the next generation of digital innovators. Digital media, games, and virtual reality include games, virtual tours, educational simulations, and art installations, providing a sense of presence and immersion that traditional media cannot provide.
The Cultural Heritage theme aims to support efforts to preserve and promote cultural heritage through creative means. By highlighting the importance of cultural heritage, this category encourages participants to engage with and preserve the traditions and practices that define their cultural identities. The category also promotes the orange economy and the idea that cultural heritage can be a source of innovation and economic development, particularly through sustainable tourism initiatives including handicrafts and cultural tourism.
