The Southern Police Directorate has summoned a group of people suspected of involvement in the brawl which happened early this morning on Khaleej Al-Bahrain Highway in Zallaq for questioning.
“A firearm and other sharp objects were used in the fight”, Public Security Deputy Chief said, pointing out that legal action was being undertaken against those involved in the brawl.
In a separate case, four saboteurs assaulted two Asians in a tailor shop in Al-Daih.
The aggressors forced the Asian tailors to close their shop.
“One of the tailors suffered a serious head injury with a sharp object (scissors), Public Security chief said, pointing out that the perpetrators were being tracked down. He said that groups of saboteurs are seeking to sow chaos, violence and sabotage and terrorize innocent people in several parts of Bahrain.
“Such acts are jeopardizing security and civic peace, disturbing citizens and expats and hampering their interests and exposing public and private properties to damage and destruction,” he said.
He said that security forces were confronting their groups of saboteurs and taking legal action against them. He also stressed the importance for inhabitants of these areas to join efforts with concerned authorities to prevent such acts and confront saboteurs and rioters so as to prevent them from committing crimes that threaten social security.
“The increasing acts of violence sabotage and legal violations, including the use of firearms represent a dangerous index”, he said, pledging that security forces would enforce the law strictly on anyone attempting to break the law so as to preserve calm and stability which are reigning in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
