An attack was carried out against Al-Khamees Primary School for Boys by unidentified culprits who hurled incendiary substances onto the school supplies’ storeroom resulting in the eruption of fire which destroyed the major part of the stocks kept in the storeroom mainly tables and chairs prepared for the students usage, according to Bahrain News Agency.
The Ministry of Education, in its statement on Thursday, said that the fire was brought under control and extinguished lest it should extend to other parts in the school and the incident was then reported to the respective security authorities who started investigation into this criminal act of sabotage. The Ministry of Education condemned this criminal act inflicted on educational installations allocated by the government to serve our schoolchildren, pointing out that such sinful act was intended to adversely affect the education process going on in the school.
In the meantime, the ministry had carried out extensive maintenance in the schools before the beginning of the school year and provided the schools with all requirements for a successful coming back to school.
