Polling stations across Bahrain were closed at 8pm on Saturday, marking the end of parliamentary bye-elections in which voters cast their ballots to elect 14 candidates, out of 55, in the Northern, Capital and Central Governorates, since four other candidates have already been elected unopposed.
Judges monitored the closing of polls, and the results will be announced later tonight.
The Interior Ministry stepped up security at polling stations to ensure voters’ safety and the smooth flow of traffic heading to by-elections venues.
