The agreement for exploration and production of gas entered into between the government of Bahrain and the American company Occidental Petroleum got go ahead, thanks to the approval of the Finance and Economic Affairs Committee of the Chamber of Deputies, according to BNA.
Ali Derazi, Chairman of the Finance and Economic Affairs Committee said that the approval of the committee came after a meeting with the Minister of Energy Dr. Abdul Hussain bin Ali Mirza.
“The committee discussed the terms of agreement and the minister gave detailed explanations,” he said. Gas production is expected to grow from 1.7 billion cubic feet per day to over 2.5 billion cubic feet per day, once production begins,” said a Bahrain Petroleum Company communiqué.
Occidental Petroleum Corporation, according to the company, is one that injects carbon dioxide into the underground formations to extract the oil and gas that remains after primary recovery operations.
