A Bahraini man from Al-Daih has died of natural causes, the health ministry announced. Ali Hassan Ali Hussain, 78, was examined by a coroner at Salmaniya Medical Complex (SMC), who confirmed the cause of the death.
The ministry denied the allegations of Al-Wefaq, which claimed that security forces assaulted the man, causing his death. The deceased’s family earlier called the Northern Police Directorate at 9 am to report his death, urging a post mortem to establish the causes of his death.
“All legal actions have been taken, with a report written at Khamis Police Station”, Northern Police director-general said, adding that the Public Prosecution had been notified. The deceased was fully conscious and said to be in a stable condition when he was transported to Al Naim Medical Centre yesterday evening by his family.
“He had reportedly fainted at home and injured his lower lip,” the source revealed.
He was later transferred to SMC at 11.35 and when checking his medical file, it was found out that he had been suffering from heart problems.
He underwent an echocardiography, but later was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) after suffering a heart attack at around 11.50. The next day, at 12.35, he died of a heart attack accompanied by high blood pressure.
