Green data centre infrastructure investments are expected to grow rapidly over the next four years. The growth marks an increase in global revenue of data centre infrastructures, jumping from $7.5 billion to $41.4 billion in 2015, according to a recent report coming from Pike Research, a leading business intelligence and research firm.
The report goes on to reveal that these new ‘green’ data centre projects are expected to capture 28 per cent of the total global market share of data centres. Tripp Lite, world leading manufacturer of power protection equipment, is looking to tap into the potential opportunities offered by this thriving IT segment by announcing its new eco-friendly product line.
The new UPS systems in this new eco-friendly line have a full load efficiency rating of 99 per cent, which allows energy savings and cooler operation by limiting power consumption to less than two watts. Users of these three new models will be protected from the damaging effects of black-outs, brown-outs and transient power surges while supporting the move towards ‘green energy savings’ with a built-in eco-mode function that automatically shuts off unused computer accessories like printers or multi-media speakers.
“Businesses today have driven the demand for high efficiency data centres, reflecting a growing preference towards the use of more eco-friendly products and solutions across various industry verticals,” said Vipin Sharma, Tripp Lite’s Vice President of Middle East, Africa and CIS Sales. “We understand this demand and are addressing it with the launch of our new line of eco-friendly products that will help cut down on energy costs, yet still provide superior protection for highly sensitive equipment.”
While these newly launched eco-friendly products have been designed to answer the challenges of the Middle East region’s move to improve power connectivity and consumption, Tripp Lite has always been committed to ‘green’ initiatives and the campaign to help preserve the environment. An example of this is the company’s commitment to Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) compliance. The company is also compliant with the European Union’s Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment directive and has partnered with Sims Recycling Solutions, the world’s largest electronic / electrical equipment recovery and recycling company.
“At Tripp Lite our commitment to energy efficiency and sustainability is one of our top priorities. This is demonstrated by the expansion of our “Eco” product line,” Sharma added.
