BAPCO was honoured at 10th Professional Development Conference and Exhibition organized by the American Society of Safety Engineers, the Middle East Chapter (ASSE-MEC), and held in the Kingdom of Bahrain from 18-22 February 2012, under the patronage of HE the Minister of the Interior HE Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al-Khalifa in presence of key officials of leading industrial corporations and societies specialized in safety. Bapco was honoured for being one of the sponsors of the event.
Ebrahim Talib, Deputy Chief Executive Refining and Marketing received the award on behalf of BAPCO from HE Minister of the Interior.
Talib expressed gratitude to the Patron and the organizers of the event, thanking them for their appreciation of BAPCO’s role and sponsorship of the conference. Commenting on this occasion, Talib said that BAPCO takes great pride in attending this global event and to be among its awarded sponsors. “BAPCO has greatly contributed to fostering the culture of safety in the region by applying the best practices internationally recognized in oil industry, and most notably Operational Excellence Management Systems (OEMS), Talib said.
BAPCO actively participated in the conference with two papers. The first paper, prepared by Ram K Goyal and Vinod Menon, described BAPCO’s experiences in adopting the requirements of recommended practices for managing hazards. The second paper, prepared by Ram K Goyal and S Kugan, described the best practices in hazards and operability HAZOP studies and experiences of Bapco.
