Engineer Abdul-Majeed Al Gassab, Chairman of the Executive Committee and Chairman of Bahrain Society of Engineers (BSE) stressed the organizers’ keenness to bring about a unique forum this year in terms of content richness and topics related to eGgovernment, eParticipation and ICT innovations, and concepts of mobility, open data, cloud computing and Internet of things applications, and many other themes to be provided by international speakers who have a vast experience in their fields. He pointed that out that 24 speakers will participate in this year’s forum coming from South Korea, the United Kingdom the United States of America, Japan, Estonia, Belgium, Turkey, Germany, Colombia, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the Arab Republic of Egypt.
Al Gassab confirmed the need to strengthen cooperation between NGOs, and for the first time four specialized workshops will be held on the sidelines of the Forum, comprising: the Cyber Law and Public Private Partnership (PPP Workshop), the Social Media Hands-On workshop, the eContent Management workshop and the Security workshop. Finally, he highlighted the importance of Bahrain IT Expo as it brings together both public and private sectors and showcases the latest products and eServices provided in Bahrain and across the region.
Al Gassab emphasized that the information technology is one of the main pillars for the national economy, and the organization of this event, in its fifth version, confirms the organizers’ keenness to push forward the economic growth and development in the Kingdom of Bahrain and the region as well, as the event brings together a group of officials from both the public and private sectors, and specialists international speakers in the field of Information Technology and communications.
