The Chief of Public Security Major-General Tariq Al Hassan confirmed a terror explosion in Al Ekar village at 7:17 PM on Monday that targeted the safety of policemen who were on duty at the entrance of the village that witnesses daily rioting and vandalism.
He said that the terror act led to injuring 7 policemen, including 3 critical who were referred to hospital. He said that the police rushed immediately to the crime scene and an investigation was launched to trace the suspects to bring them to justice.
The initial information indicates that the terror explosion was caused by a home-made bomb that was connected with gasoline. The explosion led to the spreading of flames and shrapnel that caused casualties and severe burns among the targeted policemen.
