Bahrain Royal Air Force (BRAF) Commander ruled out sending political or military notices to any party through holding the Basic Liaison Drill 2012 (BLD 2012) in Bahrain.
BRAF Commander told Al-Ayam newspaper that the participation of countries from outside of the Arabian GCC countries, such as United States, Jordan, Pakistan, Egypt and Turkey in the BLD 2012, which is currently held in Bahrain until the 18th of April, is due to the engagement of the Kingdom of Bahrain in military agreements with these countries and not because of they are NATO member states, in addition these countries enjoy most advanced and sophisticated air systems, which make their participation necessary to add an extra quality to the drill.
BRAF Commander added, the drill examines the readiness of the air operation and air defense units, while for the BRAF, it assists in preparing new air operation leaders, air formation combat leaders, strengthening the relationship with the participating air forces, gaining new experiences, unifying air concepts and terminologies and activating the role of the air operation control Center.
The air commander concluded that the BRAF have constantly worked on developing the BLD since it was first launched in 1988 by inviting more countries to take part in this air event.
