Bahrain’s Lower House of the Parlaiment, the Representatives Council, on Tuesday strongly denounced the statements made by the Speaker and members of the Iranian Shura Council, describing them as “blatant” interference in Bahrain’s internal affairs and those of the countries of the Arabian Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), in a clear violation on states’ sovereignty on independence.
The Parliament rejected categorically Iran’s hostile statements aiming to destabilize regional security and stability and that of Bahrain, in particular, asserting that they are in line with Iran’s repeated attempts to sow sedition and division among GCC citizens through incitement via incredible media establishments and terrorist platforms.
The Representatives Council also expressed astonishment at the recurrence of those unacceptable statements by Iranian official sides, calling for the need to adhere to the principles of good neighborliness and stop meddling in the internal affairs of Bahrain and those of the GCC countries.
The Council also rejected the Iranian officials’ provocative interference, asserting that they have nothing to do with the GCC Union.
The Parliament, representing the popular will, also affirmed that joining the GCC Union is the right step forward in the process of joint GCC action that will achieve security, stability and economic prosperity for the GCC citizens and fortify the region against Iran’s illusions and expansionism.
