President of the Information Affairs Authority (IAA) Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al Khalifa stressed that the host of the 12th Gulf Radio and TV Corporation Festival by the Kingdom of Bahrain coincides with the selection of Manama the 2012 capital of Arab press and culture, which reflects the boom of the cultural movement and launching the freedom of media in line with HM the King’s reform project.
Addressing the opening ceremony at the University of Bahrain, IAA president, said that in line with the wise leadership directives, the Kingdom of Bahrain is keen to bolster the Gulf media cooperation through exchanging news, TV and radio programs, technical and human expertise and development of mutual systems.
IAA president welcomed the audience, and praised the Gulf intellectuals and media men who participate in the Festival, wishing the audience to enjoy their stay in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
IAA commended the efforts exerted by the Gulf Radio and TV Corporation and the organizing committees to make this Festival successful.
IAA president concluded by wishing the Gulf media further prosperity and success in playing their role to protect the Arab cultural identity, security and stability and boost the sustainable development in the framework of the Gulf comprehensive unity.
