On behalf of HM the King, Foreign Affairs Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa participates in a meeting of leaders of countries which contribute into the International Security Assistance Forces (ISAF) held on the peripheries of NATO Summit in Chicago, USA, presided over by US President Barak Obama with participation of a number of world leaders.
The Minister emphasized that the Kingdom of Bahrain’s participation along with the world community in preserving security and stability in Afghanistan emanates from the Kingdom’s sense of responsibility and belief in the principles of the UN Charter and in order to boost global peace and security and praised the UN plan which enables Afghani forces to take over security tasks when ISAF forces pull out in 2014.
ISAF meeting is to explore NATO’s Strategic Plan and Strategic Report on Afghan-stationed ISAF forces. The meeting also discusses the developing of Afghani security personnel and preparing them to take over the security tasks by 2014.
