His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, who chaired at Sakhir Palace in the presence of His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa the cabinet weekly meeting, directed the Government entities to reach out the public and address the issues immediately, if any.
HM said Bahrain has been blessed with progress and prosperity which requires more efforts to be done as citizens’ welfare is the most sublime goal of reform and development.
“This will never be achieved unless the governmental body assumes its full role in serving citizens and bringing about the tangible positive changes aspired for,” HM affirmed stressing the importance of governmental policies based on a scientific method and and which take into consideration the best international practices.
HM the King instructed the government to maintain direct contact with citizens and work side by side with the legislative power, mass media and non-government organisations (NGOs).
HM directed to keep in touch with brotherly and friendly countries as well as international organisations so as to project the government’s keen interest to serve the Bahraini people and highlight the kingdom’s pioneering initiatives to protect citizens’ rights and bolster their welfare.
HM urged the state media to assume a prominent and proactive role inside and outside Bahrain instead of mere reactions. HM stressed, in this context, the need for the media leaderships to work complementarily with all government establishments without exception to maintain communication with the local and international community.
HM asserted that Bahrain is capable, thanks to its loyal people, to preserve its security no matter how varied the methods of terrorism are.
“What happened will never be repeated thanks to our people’s awareness,” HM pledged, underlining that development, reform and security can only be achieved by respecting the judiciary and the rule of the law which must be consistent with the constitutional provisions and the principles of human rights.
HM the King emphasized the importance of cooperation and complementarities between the Social Development Ministry, the Education Ministry, the youth and sport sector and the media sector to protect youngsters from intellectual and behavioural delinquency.
HM instructed the Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments Ministry to assume its role in preventing misuse of religious rostrums by taking more effective measures to preserve their noble message.
HM said pulpits should never be left to incite hatred and violence.
HM the King praised social initiatives aimed at cementing national unity and shunning violence and incitement of hatred and sectarianism.
“This is the forecast role of NGOs, religious clerics, the intellectuals, media persons and all the intelligentsia who are loyal to their homeland and community for any difference in political views should not be allowed to jeopardise our unity and cohesion,” HM affirmed.
“Ever since the launch of the National Action Charter, our strategy has always been to solve differences of views in the community through constructive communication between all citizens,” HM added, stressing that the Bahraini affair is a purely internal issue that concerns only the Bahraini people who are capable to settle their difference without any foreign mediation.
HM urged to get ready and support transition from the GCC cooperation phase to the union phase as part of the Kingdom’s keenness to boost cooperation with brotherly countries and bring about more growth and prosperity.
HRH the Prime Minister expressed thanks and respect to HM the King for presiding the cabinet meeting and valuable directives.
HRH described serving citizens as a government’s top priority, pointing out continuous follow-up on ministers and officials’ interaction with citizens to assess their needs and cater to them.
“This interaction will be one of the criteria to evaluate the officials’ competence and ministries work,” HRH the Premier said, adding that in line with the royal directives more field visits will be paid to regions and ongoing projects and longer time will be allocated to meeting citizens and assessing their needs.
HRH the Prime Minister noted that the government would draw a strategy to render the state media more effective and proactive to best serve national goals.
HRH pledged to build up on the achievements made in the prosperous era of HM the King, pointing out that national awareness would thwart any attempt to undermine national accomplishments which have flourished thanks to the royal reform project.
