The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC)’s security-general, Professor Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, has strongly denounced the approval of the Israeli occupation authorities to build 1240 new settlement units on Palestinian territories occupied since 1967. He stressed that the policy of illegal Israeli expansion was defiance and a test of the willpower of the international community and blatant violation of the rights of the Palestinian people.
The OIC Secretary-General added that the continued construction and expansion of settlements on the territory of the Palestinian state was a violation of international law and resolutions of international legitimacy.
Professor Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu urged Security Council to pass firm and practical resolutions capable of stopping ongoing Israeli infractions and aggressions against the Palestinian people and the territories of the State of Palestine.
